That magical time is almost upon us as we anxiously await the announcement of those worthy of participating in one of the world's favorite events: NCAA March Madness #MarchFatness.
Yes, we're talking Selection Sunday here. It will take place this Sunday, March 16th at the same time as that other selection show, which is approximately 6:00pm ET. Follow us live on the twitter account @itsthefoodcourt and keep an eye on the blog as we will reveal the 20-contestant field for #MarchFatness.
We combed through all the finest dining that fast food had to offer (pizzas have not been included at this time) and put together the 20 best entries based on taste and value. Over the next few weeks, these foods will battle it out to take home the ultimate prize as the winner will be crowned the 2014 Champion and inaugural winner of #MarchFatness.
A few details on the bracket:
The bracket will consist of 20 contestants broken down into four regions of 5 seeds each. The contestants were ranked by Justin and Jesse from #1 to #20 in order to set up the matchups. Originally, this was going to be a 16-food tournament, but we felt it necessary to expand the field to 20. Thus, there will be four play-in games consisting of the 4 and 5 seeds battling to earn the final spot in each region.
Voting will commence here on the site and on Twitter with the play-in round after the selections are revealed so as mentioned above, pay attention to the twitter feed @itsthefoodcourt and the blog. In all likelihood there will be a brief analysis and breakdown of each matchup by our esteemed experts to assist you in voting if needed. We eat a lot. You know what you like so vote and make sure your favorite doesn't get upset and most importantly makes it to the final where it can be crowned the Champion of #MarchFatness.
